Keela Ross is a director in the Tax Services practice, with specific oversight and responsibility for managing the Sales and Use Tax practice, based in the Addison, Texas office. She has over 15 years of tax compliance and advisory experience in the areas of property tax, sales and use tax, and unclaimed property.
Keela began her career in personal property compliance and valuation managing large volumes of data and developing customized client specific solutions. She quickly expanded her expertise to include the areas of unclaimed property and sales and use tax consulting.
Throughout her career, Keela has supported a series of client service teams in the management of transaction tax audits and voluntary disclosure submissions. She has extensive experience with a number of different accounting and enterprise resource planning (ERP) reporting systems to gather, document and organize large volumes of information in support of a client’s position. Keela has a broad range of experience integrating client information and data systems and is a subject matter expert with key responsibility for managing the Duff & Phelps Tax Services portal.
Keela was among the chief architects of this proprietary database management system, utilizing client experiences to design its functionality and customize capabilities tailored to company specifications.
Keela has supported client personnel in the collection, review and analysis of information, and currently manages a team of tax professionals to gather and review information to support tax audits, voluntary disclosures and compliance matters. She has also directly participated in several negotiations with auditors and state representatives. Keela serves clients in a number of industries, including industrial manufacturing, consumer products, media, retail, information services and financial services.
Keela received an MBA from Texas Woman’s University and is a licensed Property Tax Consultant in Texas. She is a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT), Council on State Taxation (COST) and National Association of State Treasurers (NAST). Keela regularly contributes content to Duff & Phelps' state and local tax blog.
